Colombian Green Beryl Ring in 14kt Two-Tone Gold
A bright, clean stone in a simple, elegant setting. This green beryl from the Chivor mine in Colombia is light in tone, but a Chelsea filter reveals red — confirming chromium (Cr³⁺) as the coloring agent, the same element that colors fine emeralds. I have called this stone green beryl rather than emerald for its lighter tone — the chromium is there, just expressed more subtly. Completely unoiled and untreated, it is exceptionally clean for its origin, with a lively, luminous green appearance in person. Cut in a Barionish design by Jim Perkins and set in a two-tone 14kt gold ring with a white gold head and yellow gold band. A sweet, wearable ring at size 6¼.
